Someone on X asked for Buy Me a Coffee, except the unit of care is a book — something you wanted, or something a friend thought you should read. Pagegift is that shelf.

A coffee tab is a shrug. A book is an afternoon. It sits on a table. It gets lent. It becomes a private joke years later. That is a better object to pass between people.

There is no checkout here on purpose. Gifting is a promise between two humans: I’ll find the title, I’ll write a note, I’ll put it in your hands. The shelf just keeps score so the same novel isn’t bought twice.
